Simultaneous interpretation

How does it work? The interpreter sits inside a sound-proof booth fitted with sound equipment and conveys the speaker’s message in the listeners’ language at the same time as the speaker’s presentation. This is ideal for events involving two or more languages and large audiences.

Consecutive interpretation

How does it work? The speaker gives his/her talk and the interpreter then faithfully reproduces it in the target language. In the case of a long speech or presentation, the speaker will usually divide it into sections to enable the interpreter to repeat it. With this system, the interpreter usually takes notes to help remember everything that is said. This system is ideal for formal events, press conferences, meetings and short speeches with a few participants and a maximum of two languages.
